Manager in Training (MIT)
Reports To: General Manager / Regional Manager
About the role
The Manager in Training (MIT) will rotate through various store positions to develop the skills needed to become a General Manager. This role assists the General Manager while gaining hands-on experience in inventory management, associate development, merchandising, advertising, account management, and financial responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Accounts Team with daily activities.
- Ensure execution of customer service programs and company policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for customers and team members.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training store staff.
- Plan and organize to meet or exceed forecasted financial goals.
- Achieve planned growth and profit objectives.
- Ensure adequate availability of merchandise.
- Train and develop store team members.
- Assist management with reporting financial measures and transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & skills
- High school or college education, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Minimum 2 years retail or customer contact experience.
- At least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and high energy.
- Demonstrated selling skills.
- Effective organizational abilities.
- Ability to lift and load up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 300 lbs with a dolly.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory MVR, D.O.T. physical (if required), drug screen, background check, and compliance with driver policy.
